My question is: Has anyone seen any of the plays currently running at the OSF? Also if anyone has gone before, where is a good section to sit at their outdoor theater?
I have seen Macbeth, The Music Man and The Servant of Two Masters. I enjoyed all three. I have heard good things about Equivocation. I've read the script which is good.
As for seating in the outdoor theatre, the center of the A+ or A sections are good. I know some people who live sitting in the first few rows of the balcony. Most of the actors at OSF have performed for many years on the outdoor stage and know how to project. The only show that uses mics is The Music Man.
One tip, although it is hot during the day in Ashland, it usually cools off at night, so take a jacket. It's easy to spot the OSF newbies who don't come prepared. Also, the seats in the outdoor theatre aren't the most comfortable, so either bring a pillow or rent one for a small fee at the theatre.
Nothing beats seeing Shakespeare outdoors at the OSF. Ashland is a wonderful town.
I saw Henry VIII last night and it was fantastic! All performances were excellent. The costumes were BEAUTIFUL! The set was great as well. Of all the actors, I enjoyed the woman who played Queen Katherine the most. I cannot recommend it enough.
This was my first time seeing an Oregon Shakespeare Festival show and I will be going back
