I'm surprised that "They're Playing Our Song" wasn't even nominated for best score. I guess it was anti-"A Chorus Line" backlash, but still having the Tony Award committee nominate "Eubie", which had songs that had been written eighty years ago, over your show...
That had to hurt.
Maybe Carol Bayer Sager could do a one woman show where she plays Joan Collins...
And Joan Rivers doesn't even look like a real human being anymore...

Yes, Robbie. Some things definitely are black and "white."

I like how they showed the outside if the Continental Airlines Arena for the Exterior shots, but the Simon/Randy/Paula/Carol auditions are At Chelsea Piers!
Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

I'm a few years older than you are, Munk, but equally clueless as to the identity of the performer in question. If you figure it out, let me know.
I'd also just like to thank you all for making this the longest thread I've ever started. Even though we've veered far from the original topic, it still gives me an odd feeling of gratification.
Margo, if I'm right in who I'm thinking it is--I saw her do a show in a gay bar in Las Vegas when I was in college (in the 80s) and she was claiming to be a Tony winner then.
Yes, we do need a third vampire musical.--Little Sally, Gypsy of the Year 2005.

We had just done the show she claimed to have won the Tony for and my best friend played her part, so we were really excited to see her at the Gipsy. It was fabulous--she sang "I Am What I Am" wearing a blonde wig then ripped it off on the "come out of the closet" line. It was one of those wonderful surreal moments at 3:00 AM.

She reminds me more of Craig Russell than Joan Collins.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
