You have to download the album in order for all the songs to show up. The same thing was happening when I checked. I'm listening to the album now, though!
^Agreed. Whole album is worth it. I Don't Need A Roof still makes me cry. That scene in the show was where I started crying and wouldn't stop until the end, both times I saw it! I love Kate Baldwin.
And "How It Ends" and "Fight the Dragons" and "Magic in the Man"!
I don't think I'll ever be able to listen to this cast recording without crying!

^Clearly something is up. I'm not sure if it's Broadway Records or iTunes, but I've never seen it like that where you can't preview the songs before purchasing an album.
Why did they cut "A River Between Us"?! Is a great effing question! Am I crazy to think that the song has a sort of Next to a Normal feel about it? For some reason I caught myself singing "catch me I'm falling" in my head.
Straight from the horse's mouth (Andrew Lippa), while he loved "River Between Us", he felt that "Stranger" really set up Will's character a lot better; However, "River" was one of, if not my favorite, song from the entire score. So. Good.
In Bobby's most recent Chatterbox he talks about how "The River Between Us" made it seem like the differences between Will and Edward were irreconcilable and it painted both of them as far more negative people than they were intended to be. "Stranger" sets up his trajectory and his hope for reconciliation with his father as opposed to "River," which, while definitely a beautiful song, seems like they're both throwing in the towel right at the start.
This is a beautiful cast recording, though. The score plays really well and the minor adjustments they made in order to have the album flow work very well. So glad this show was preserved.
