Call me cynical, but all of this stuff coming right before Ronan Farrow's new MSNBC show launches later this month... does make me wonder. Use the Academy Award to get the name out there via Woody, then slingshot that attention to his new show.
It's not like this timing has any other relevance, since the alleged incident was in 1985.
The "by mistake" refers to the idea that I would like to think that no one would leave such personal items out on purpose…
"I am curious as to why you would like to think that? Also, I appreciate that you responded. "
I don't mind answering honest questions....Why would I like to think that? I would like to think that no one would leave out naked pictures of their girlfriend in a place where children - including brothers and sisters... might see them. No, they did not all live under one roof at all times but there was some traveling about between the family.
Just for the record, I have not thought Mia innocent in the way she conducted her life either - but I don't think anything she did was a possible crime.
But this thread was about Woody and any possible backlash he may encounter due to this current story..and I was just giving my opinion that I have not seen anything he has done since when this story hit years ago. Then again, morality and what's right or appropriate is all screwy anyway. After reading so many hateful comments about 7 beautiful girls who sang America the Beautiful in 7 different languages for a Coke commercial, with people vowing never to buy Coca Cola again...it's hard to wrap your mind about how some people can justify how certain things are right and certain things are wrong. So again, the answer to the original post is "who the heck knows!".

According to the original Vanity Fair article, Mia said she found them "under a tissue box" on the fireplace mantle. Mia did not say in the article that the pictures were "left out" where they might be seen.
That statement has never been challenged or corroborated, but it has been widely exaggerated beyond the original description until people form judgments that the six Polaroids were framed and on display.
In my country a jailed murderer, when released, became a 'celebrity comedy'act. My choice not to see or read any more about him but he had a very successful career after prison.CHOICE.I feel that those who are interested in theatre, musicals, and know Bullets from the movie and now the new stage performers, they will be drawn more to the work than a Mr Allen show.It is the sum of ALL the people involved in its creation that matters.I hope critics do not allow supermarket journalism to cloud their honest appraisal of this work.If we look at a famous painting, love it,and someone says 'oh did you know he/she was a ????'-am I going to love that art work any less-CHOICE.Was told of a very famous conductor[alive]who is not reputable off the podium-but his musice is sublime--CHOICE.I feel the few people that boycott Bullets will make no difference to it's success[unless it is an artistic stinker].
