This sounds like fun. However, it strikes me as a show that will be a smash in London and shutter quickly in NY.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
I think the only good thing about this is going to be the book because it's written by Jennifer Saunders. I'd much rather her write something else with her brilliance, but I digress.
The only thing that excites me is that Jennifer Saunders is involved. However, the Spice Girls HATE each other - check out Mel B's reaction to Victoria in this clip - leaves me cold! They're only doing it for the money.

How much money will they get? I know they're involved (on some level, even if it's just promo), but the Girls have pretty rare credit on any of the songs.
EricMontreal... scanning their wiki page, it does appear they do share at least some credit for their catalog, most notably "Wannabe". Of course, they only had 3 albums... if you really wanna include the Americanized R&B Spice Girls disaster.
Well, the Spice Girls or members of the Spice Girls have a writing or co-writing credit on everything on the Greatest Hits album. They'll be paid for anything that's used in this musical.
As a kid of the 90s, I can hardly wait for this. The Spice Girls were some of my first exposure to pop music. I feel like this is my Mamma Mia.
