I wish there were more. But there is a LOT here. It's a must-read.

I'm glad someone wrote that...but it feels like half an article. There's so much more to talk about.

I just had to comment because this post gave me a serious fit of the giggles!

A very interesting article! I know there is so much more but it was nice to see this a little more out in the open. Also nice to read some of the cast member names of those involved.

So if net profit is $500,000 a week (which I'm sure it's more with the price increases) the 33 people involved in this agreement stand to earn an additional $8,000 a year from Broadway alone.

As far as additional productions at 0.33%, assuming also $500,000 profit a week (which is also an underestimate since tour houses are much bigger than the Rodgers) they will gain an additional $2,600 a year PER production. So once Broadway, Chicago, and the two tours are underway they will be pocketing at least $15,000 a year each. That's a lot of money but for some reason in my head I was expecting more.

They're SHARING one percent so no, in the grand scheme of things it's not a lot of money, but it may be the difference between paying your rent and not.

I would absolutely love to see the complete email correspondence released. Make it happen, Bloomberg.

Given that the article doesn't even mention how they GOT the emails....that doesn't seem likely.

And am I reading that right: Lin-Manuel is sharing in the 1% too?

Apparently. Though I can't imagine why.

No. That doesn't mean that.

I have no idea what any of the listing or Playbill stuff means but I have followed this thread for months leading up to the date I had tickets for in order to get updates on the cast, etc. My show was last night and my Playbill (not the insert) shows Seth listed with the principals and then in the Cast List he was also listed as Lafayette/Jefferson. He was not listed in the Understudy/Standby list. Only Andrew was listed as an understudy for Lafayette/Jefferson. Seth's photo was also on the page with the other principals.

The same thing in the "Who's Who in the Cast" with Seth listed directly after Anthony and he is listed as "Seth Stewart (Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson)." Andrew is listed as "Andrew Chappelle (Swing, u/s Aaron Burr, Laurens/Phillip, Lafayette/Jefferson, Mulligan/Madison, King George)."

Like I said, I have no idea what any of this stuff means or if it is different from how it has been listed previously but I thought I would share.

Also, has Sydney Harcourt left the show? He was not listed anywhere in the Playbill.

Well there we have it, I guess.

FWIW, I wasn't super crazy about Seth in either role but liked his Jefferson better than his Lafayette. He grew on me as the show went on.

I'm happy for Seth--I enjoyed his Jefferson (Lafayette, not so much)--but was hoping that if a cast member was bumped up, that it would have been Andrew. I found his portrayal to be nearly as strong as Daveed's. But a guy like Andrew is so critical in the fact that he has the talent and range to not just be a swing, but a drop-dead amazing swing. We know swings are unsung heroes, but Chappelle is a superman.

I agree,  I absolutely loved Andrew Chapelle, and it's a shame that he wasn't bumped up to lead.

It does appear Sydney has left the show, but I don't know for sure.

Sydney has been silent on Facebook. He was out of the show this past the spring with an injury.

Thanks for sharing this information at the time IslandBoy27 even though you were shot down rather me mercilessly by those who appear to be well informed on such matters.

My friend was at the show last night and said Michael Luwoye was her favorite Burr she's seen, and since she's seen the show three times (including with Leslie) that is a big compliment to him! She didn't even know who he was until after the show let out and she told me what his name was. She said he was stunning and made a lot of interesting choices that were totally different than Leslie. She also said that she can see him being a terrific Hamilton, so now I'm really interested in trying to get tickets to one of his weekly performances.

Man, I'm so jealous of people who have seen Luwoye in either role. He stole the show in Invisible Thread.

I was there last night as well - my first time at Hamilton! I thought Michael Luwoye was great, I never would have known it was his first performance as Burr.

Having been fortunate enough to see his very impressive performance as Hamilton, I can totally imagine Luwoye being tremendous as Burr.  Very cool that he is now covering both!

A good (and discerning) friend of mine saw him recently as Hamilton, and said the same--that he was better than either Javier OR Lin.  He must be an incredible talent.

As part of an interview about Phantom's 30th Anniversary celebrations in London this Monday, Cameron Mackintosh reveals he plans to have a larger number ôf affordable tickets (£35 and under) than the current productions. Combine that with the pound's post-Brexit exchange rate and it maybe cheaper (and more accessible) to cross the Atlantic than head to Broadway come next October.
