"But what we really need is to open up Medicare for the public."
How would it be funded? It's my understanding that Medicare is primary funded via payroll taxes paid by employers and workers most of whom are entitled to coverage when they reach the age of 65. And with the remaining baby boomers quickly approaching retirement, the enrollee-to-payer ratio doesn't look that promising.
businesses will pay the government, or the people will pay the government for their health care, just like they do the insurance companies. The ACA will still be there, but they will just have another option (Medicare) in the exchanges under obamacare.
Which may be why we are the financial basket case we are today, It has not already been amended but whole sections have been rewritten with no input from Congress. Medicare has been gutted and money diverted to prop it up. It has received more than ample support. This is like trying to revive a body that is already buried in the ground. Key point of it was to allow people to stay on their parents plan till 26. If the key part of it is to have younger people to join, this part totally negates it so those people who stay on their parents plans are not buying into their own plans

" Yes, lets put businesses and industries out of business, or nationalize them. Venezuela should be our goal.
What a weird point of view, I'd hate to have that stand point. Nye Bevan could be the goal
So putting the insurance companies out of business will solve the problem. Let us let government control everything as they have done such a splendid job so far.So what if hundreds of thousands of workers lose their jobs. It does not affect you so you could care less. Less break up the big banks and throw a ton of people out of work .Ditto for Wall Street. Problem is if this happened NYC would become Detroit overnight as there would be no one to pay the bills that keep the city running. The taxes they pay allow the city to pay its workers and provide services. Pesky little things like this always get in the way.
Yes, worst case scenario is the obvious result. Something something death panels and whatnot. Fol-de-rol communist Russia doololly East Germany and a North Korean nanny nanny boo boo. Wild de Horn!
