Carlos, I just looked at the tour schedule.  There is a Brooklyn and Newark show already scheduled for 2016.

The Newark show looks to have a more variety of unsold and cheaper tickets than Brooklyn.

So, I'm enjoying the new video for "No Sleep".  Such a wonderfully seductive song needed a light touch that didn't overwhelm the music and I think she and her director accomplished that nicely.  I'm not always a fan of "tacked on" rap contributions, but I actually J Cole complements Janet nicely, too.  Two random things that really stuck out for me though:

The ick factor of watching Janet slowly groove in front of a giant projection of her young self and her abusive father while she sings a song about sex (see 1:02) and the weirdly creepy smile she gives the camera at 2:12 that looks like you're not gonna get any sleep because she'll be busy skinning you alive.  (But that might be the byproduct of some slightly overdone facial surgery).

All in all, nicely done and perhaps a slight nod to the "That's the Way Love Goes" and "Rock With U" videos - two of her best.

To me, she doesn't break new ground musically or aesthetically with dark layered clothing and 80s-era hair extensions.  Also, I find the slightly overdone facial surgery somewhat distracting.  The whole package seems ho hum, lazy & dated, not retro.  And I don't mind the occasional singer-rapper collabo just not this one.  J Cole basically phoned it in.

Like the song. Glad I am not the only one who had thoughts about the pics of her and her dad on the walls. Really has nothing to do with the song. I am hoping she is putting something slow and mid-tempo out first and then hits us with some good Janet dance music. I think Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis ar on board so I am really anxious to hear the rest of the cd.

Janet is postponing tour rehearsals to care for her Father.

First show was last night.  That setlist had 32 songs.  Stoked to hear she is doing Scream and The Best Things In Life Are Free.  I hope there are videos or holograms of the Michael and Luther parts and not a male tour singer.

New song, "Unbreakable" is now available!
Loving it! It's just so classic 90s Janet!

Great to listen to her voice without all the whispering or effects over it...

Just finished my first listen of Unbreakable album. Wow, is this great. Janet is back in form, I mean on a par with Velvet Rope (in my mind, her masterpiece). Standout tracks:  Unbreakable, Dammn Baby, Shoulda Known Better, After You Fall, Well Traveled, and Gon' B Alright.  Love love love this.

I'm loving the sound of the album, and I can't wait for my chance to see her in February. The drop crotch aside, the show looks really great.

I am a bit sad I didn't spring to see her in Van, but I'm honestly not a big enough fan anymore for it to worry me too much and a lot of it sounds like her last two (endless medleys, etc.)  A friend saw it in Van and said she was strong (strong dancing when lip synching and surprisingly strong singing live on ballads,) but claimed she NEVER had one costume change which deeply upset him.  Surely she can't wear that hideous drop crotch outfit for the full show...

Unfortunately, she does. From show to show she alternates between a white one and a black one.

After seeing Madonna, who I'm not really even a fan of, I think this might be a bit of a letdown? I like theatrics and Madonna gave me a SHOW. The set was always moving and changing. It was awesome. So I think I'm spoiled now.

I went to the Rythm Nation concert ( near the end of the tour when she wasn't lip synching as mch). Great show. Saw a number of clips from this tour and I will pass. Really wish I had sprung for a Madonna ticket. From what I saw, that show was incredible.

Have the Janet album. Love it right up until the slowdown near the end. Around the Eagle song. Jam and Lewis definetly like ZED and Disclosure as they have incorporated their sound.  And it works beautifully. Then there is the eerily beautiful song where she sounds like her brother all the way down to the phrasing.

Did you get the Target release?  It has two bonus tracks.  #18 is a slow gorgeous track.  #19, I could do without.  My favorite track is " Shoulda Known Better".  Really love the cd.

Uncageg, no offense, but I refuse to wait 2.5 hours for a concert to start again in my lifetime (which is the exact amount of time it took Madonna to take the stage when I saw her during the MDMA tour).  I still love Madonna, but she has no respect for her fans, most of whom are of a certain age, and have jobs to get to the next morning!

Janet, on the other hand, has been on the stage exactly at the time she was supposed to be for each of the times that  I've seen her the last 2 tours (3 times during the #1's tour, 3 times during the Discipline tour).  She puts on a fabulous show, loves her audience, and doesn't need all the extra theatrics.

Artman, I just picked up the Target release and I'll listen later.  I actually agree with you, "Shoulda Known Better" is my favorite track, with "The Great Forever" and "Well-Traveled" being close behind.  "After You Fall" gives me chills.  I absolutely love this CD, and I'm thrilled that it's gotten such raves from critics.  This is Janet's time, and damn she deserves it!

Luvcaroline, Are you seeing this tour?  I'm going in March and I have 12th row center,  The best seats I've ever had for Janet.  Can't wait.

Actually I'm seeing her in San Diego the weekend after next. We're on the floor but off to the side. I'll report back after the show. You have great seats, you will love her!  We saw her on the first row at Radio City last time and it's one of my greatest concert memories. Too bad front row seats are priced so much higher these days...

We also have tickets for the next leg of the tour next year in Dallas and Houston. Can't get enough Janet!
