'There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently'
-Robert Evans-
Man of steel, was a huge bore of a movie, Snyder just needs to stop making movies...
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

I think it's hilarious. Watching the reaction has been great. I love Batman, I love the comics, I love the animated series, and yes, I even love The Dark Knight Trilogy.
My only qualms are the narrowness of the DC/WB properties. I want to see an Aquaman movie. I want to see a Wonder Woman movie. I get worked up over those movies if they ever get into production. People putting on their caps as a Batman expert and whether or not Affleck is **right** bores me.
In all honesty, I wish he was directing this. He would feel like a more natural step the dark, serious, action-driven popcorn flavor of DC property adaptations than Zack Snyder.
God, I cannot wait until the superhero movie craze finishes. Didn't we JUST finish with Batman?
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.
Much more excited about Affleck than Snyder. Snyder has a less-than-inspiring track record.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
The only version that told the REAL story of Batman and Robin is the one from Broadway Bares 2004 that featured Christopher Sieber as Batman and his real-life boyfriend (and now husband) Kevin Burrows as Robin.

Love them or hate them superhero movies haven't even reached their apex yet. Based on Marvel and DC's release schedule I would say we have another 5-6 years of being inundated with them.
Personally I take them on a film by film basis rather than dismissing the entire genre as a whole. I loved the Avengers, but I was bored by the character's solo films.
I don't really care for the Batman films, but I admire Nolan's outstanding direction and writing.
As far as Affleck goes I think he'll be fine. The next movie is going to take place several years after Dark Knight Rises, so he's the right age. And really Batman has always been a rather stoic character so I think Affleck will be just fine.
The outrage in the nerdverse has been unrelenting though. The comic fans are pissed.
Ben Affleck playing Bruce Wayne playing Batman in the sequel to a Superman movie to be directed by Zack Snyder.
Can I now officially declare American mainstream cinema to be DEAD?
On the other hand, as someone online pointed out, it will be a novelty to have at least one competent filmmaker at work on a film directed by Zack Snyder.

Affleck should be directing it, not starring in it.
As long as these movies make over half a billion dollars worldwide even when they get awful reviews, they are "flop proof." They're the closest thing to a sure bet in Hollywood these days.

I have never seen a Batman movie. I don't plan to start now, but it has nothing to do with Affleck.
But I will definitley go on record saying I think he's a MUCH better director than actor.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I do, too. I also think, as an actor, Affleck is always more interesting as a sidekick or secondary lead. He lacks whatever that "interesting" thing is to successfully carry a film as a lead the way Damon has (and many others). HIs best film work has been in secondary roles.
I don't even know why they felt it necessary to cast a "star" in this new Superman movie. Look how well the Paramount superhero films did without a major name in the leading roles. (Yes, they had Robert Downey, Jr. for Iron Man, but that was the exception, not the rule.)

the only person to ever direct a decent performance out of ben affleck has been ben affleck. since zach snyder is not, in fact, ben affleck, there is a roughly 99.9972581% chance this will suck harder'n lilo working on james deen's unit. but then man of steel blew and made a bajillion dollars so why mess with the formula?
i personally enjoy superhero movies when they are done well. i loved iron man movies. i loved the avengers. i thought captain maerica was fun as was thor. i think the wolverine movies blow - except for liev schrieber and ryan reynolds and danny hustion in wolverine origins. i enjoyed all the x-men movies and i liked watchmen and mystery men as well.
are they great cinema? nah, but they are fun diversions. who says every movie has to be citizen cane?
