Chesapeake Shakespeare Company (CSC) announces the beloved Shakespeare romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing as its 2022 outdoor show at Patapsco Female Institute (PFI) Historic Park in Ellicott City, with performances June 15 through July 24, 2022.
To put the biggest problem in contemporary terms, terms which doubtless occurred to many members of the audience besides just me: Is this a play about Zelensky or is it a play about Putin? You can characterize it as the story of a small army’s gallant victory against a much larger and better-equipped force, or you can talk about it as the story of an unprovoked invasion of a sovereign foreign land in service of an improbable abstract notion of the invading country’s imperial rights.
Chesapeake Shakespeare Company continues its 19th Season with William Shakespeare's historical epic, Henry V, directed by Alec Wild.
On the heels of its annual holiday presentation of A Christmas Carol, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company will resume a regular production schedule in 2022 with three shows to comprise their 19th season.
Shakespeare's Henry IV, Part I (1597), now being revived by the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, is at its heart a family story. It certainly bears the traditional characteristics of Shakespeare's history plays, but it is, first and foremost, a story of two fathers and two sons, and only secondarily about dynastic struggles.
Chesapeake Shakespeare Company is at 7 S. Calvert St., Baltimore, MD.
Chesapeake Shakespeare Company is the leading classical theatre company in Maryland, offering vibrant performances that blow the dust off of Shakespeare and delight its patrons. One of the six largest theatre companies in the state, CSC serves diverse audiences with funny, moving, rousing mainstage seasons, a vigorous education program that serves over 16,000 students annually in both theatre and the classroom, and a growing community engagement effort.
