Ally Theatre Company presents THINK BEFORE YOU HOLLA as part of the 2017 Capital Fringe Festival ImageAlly Theatre Company in partnership with Joe's Movement Emporium is proud to present the second production of their inaugural season, Think Before You Holla, July 15-23 as part of the 2017 Capital Fringe Festival.

Created and directed by Ally Associate Director Taylor Reynolds, Think Before You Holla uses true stories via interviews and social media to examine the patriarchal roots of gender-based street harassment and its overall influence on women's psyches. Think Before You Holla features Jennean Farmer, Chelsea Harrison, Victoria Mrythil, Christina Neubrand, and Jehan O. Young with costume design by Katherine Karaus and sound design by Justin Propper.

"Although Think Before You Holla first came to life in June 2014, it's really taken a fuller shape over the last nine months," says Reynolds. "I've devised the piece with eight incredible women; it's been difficult and taxing to dive into the wide variety of street harassment stories we've collected from friends, family, and a few strangers and intertwine them with the upsetting statistics of what street harassment can lead to, but the understanding that what we're doing will have a strong foothold in the fight against street harassment helps us to push forward."

"By examining the 'why' around a harasser's behavior, we hope to to empower bystanders to become allies in this assault on women's emotional well-being," says Ally's Founding and Producing Artistic Director, Ty Hallmark. "Sadly, as we've seen in the last month, street harassment can sometimes end violently, which is why this is a particularly important conversation to have right now."

Showtimes are Saturday 7/15 at 8PM, Sunday 7/16 at 2PM and 5:30PM, Thursday 7/20 at 6:30PM and 9PM, Friday 7/21 at 6:30PM and 9PM, Saturday 7/22 at 2:30PM, 6:30PM, and 9PM and Sunday 7/23 at 2:30PM and 5PM.

All performances take place at Joe's Movement Emporium - 3309 Bunker Hill Road Mt. Rainier, MD. Tickets are $17 and can be purchased either through Joe's Movement Emporium (301-699-1819) or the Capital Fringe Festival Box Office (866.811.4111).
