Broadway veteran, Capathia Jenkins, and songwriter and musician, Louis Rosen, bring their concert, 'The Ache of Possibility,' to Northwestern University's Evanston campus in from June 25th to the 27th. As part of the 2010 Summer Music Theatre Festival at the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University, their three performances will take place at 8 p.m. Friday, June 25; 8 p.m. Saturday, June 26; and 2 p.m. Sunday, June 27, in the Josephine Louis Theater, 20 Arts Circle Drive. They will be joined by virtuoso bassist Dave Phillips. The ticketed event is open to the public.

When Kinan Valdez, the producing artistic director of El Teatro Campesino (ETC), began planning El Teatro's 2010 season, he was inspired to use the working-title 'Raices/Roots' because many of the pieces this season are classic works-or inspired from the classic works-created in the beginnings of San Juan Bautista's world-renown, all original, theater company. At the same time, Valdez is also creating new works to add to the company's artistic arsenal. The newest work created by Valdez is ‘Corridos!!! Tales of the Mexican Revolution,' which begins June 18 at El Teatro Campesino's playhouse in San Juan Bautista.

Howard County Arts Council Begins Summer Arts Program 6/24

Registration has begun for visual and performing arts summer programs at the Howard Arts Council (HCAC) in Ellicott City. Programs are open to the public, regardless of residency in Howard County, for grades K-7. Campers must turn 5 years of age minimum by September 1, 2010 to be eligible for summer camp.
