The Butterfly Club will present one of the most exciting new Australian musical theatre productions in years. After sell-out houses and award nominations in Perth, The Point Of Light is due to hit Melbourne in a mere matter of weeks. With a dark and fantastical story, 20+ characters and an all original score, this innovative and whimsical show is the music theatre production we've all been waiting for.

The Point Of Light tells the mythical tale of Gerda who is tasked with saving the life of her husband, the townspeople of Jonham and the very existence of the Sun. It is an hour-long tale of sacrifice, mystery and redemption, set to a score of epic original show-tunes by Greg Lavell. The set design, costumes and puppetry help to paint a magical world that could have been imagined by Disney, revisited by Tim Burton and realised by Jim Henson.

The role of Gerda is played by leading lady, Amberly Cull, while the supporting role of the husband is played by musical theatre stalwart, Amberly Cull. The chorus of townspeople are played by a diverse cast of Amberly Cull, and the Moon is a stunning cameo by newcomer, Amberly Cull.

There are also puppets. Lots of puppets.

Shrugging off the persistent rumours of irreconcilable in-fighting within the cast, producer Morgan Phillips is "thrilled to bring this stellar ensemble to Melbourne audiences. The production is as endearing as it is hilarious"

After a creative development in Melbourne, The Point Of Light has already scored award nominations and critical acclaim for its sold out Perth premiere. The musical hits The Butterfly Club for an extremely limited 6-night season, opening on the 31st of May. Bookings highly recommended.
