Williamstown Theatre Festival hosts the opening night for the second Nikos Stage production of the 2016 Season Saturday, July 16th at 8:00pm with the world premiere of Michael West's play The Chinese Room (July 13-23).

Obie Award-winner James MacDonald directs this sci-fi comedy thriller by Irish playwright Michael West. A visionary in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Frank (Brían F. O'Byrne) has built a humandroid to preserve his wife Lily's (Laila Robins) memory - because she is losing hers. But when he is ousted from the company he founded, he must race to save his life's work. As Frank scrambles to protect his property, his legacy and the technology he invented, the play examines how far we will go to preserve what we love.

The cast includes Carson Elrod (Peter and the Starcatcher), Sue Jean Kim (10 Out of 12), Brían F. O'Byrne ("Aquarius") and Laila Robins (Heartbreak House).

The Chinese Room begins previews Wednesday, July 13th and is scheduled through Saturday, July 23rd. There will be a special Lawn Talk before the show on July 17th, and a post-show talkback will take place after the July 19th performance.
