Author William A. Luke was born in 1924 and lived a life he is proud of. From his humble beginnings in Iron Mountain, Mich., to the island of Sumar in the South Pacific, Luke has seen the world twice over and experienced more than a lifetime of excitement.

While Luke was never shorthanded in the ways of adventure, one aspect of his life always stuck out to him - his letters to his brother, Bob. Luke compiles his letters to his brother alongside his many life experiences in his new book, "Dear Bob" (published by AuthorHouse).

Luke's brother was two years older than him and "twice as cocky," according to Luke. Despite having what Luke called a love-hate relationship, the two exchanged letters for much of their lives. While they used the letters as a way to stay in touch with each other, Luke says the letters also served as a way for him to reminisce and remember the many things he experienced in his life.

"Dear Bob" focuses not only on Luke's letters to his brother, but also features in-depth coverage on the meeting of his wife, to whom he was married for 63 years, and first-hand details regarding WWII.

"It's the story of my life," Luke says, "but also of multiple lives, as it covers more than 80 years, from growing up in the Great Depression, serving in WWII, the wedding from Hell and 63 years of marriage - it's a story of many an American."
