Producer Ken Davenport announced today that Celisse Henderson (Wicked National Tour), Lindsay Mendez (Everyday Rapture) and Wallace Smith (American Idiot) are the latest additions to the cast of the upcoming Broadway revival and 40th anniversary production of the legendary rock musical GODSPELL.

Henderson, Mendez and Smith join previously announced cast members Hunter Parrish (as Jesus), Uzo Aduba, Nick Blaemire, Morgan James and Telly Leung.

Wallace Smith, who is set to play the role of Judas, most recently appeared on Broadway in Green Day's American Idiot. His other Broadway credits include the revival of Ragtime, Simba in Disney's The Lion King and Hud in the revival of Hair. His National Tour credits include Miss Saigon and the first and second national tours of The Lion King.

Celisse Henderson is pleased to make her Broadway debut with GODSPELL. She has appeared onstage in the national touring company of Stephen Schwartz's Wicked and at Carnegie Hall in Jerry Springer: The Opera and Bernstein's Mass with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Her television credits include "The Electric Company" (series regular), "30 Rock," "White Collar" and "Rescue Me."

An accomplished singer and multi-faceted musician, Celisse released her debut album Show and Tell last year. The album -- now available on iTunes -- was written, arranged, played and sung entirely by Celisse.

Lindsay Mendez's Broadway credits include Sherie Rene Scott's Everyday Rapture and the recent revival of Grease!. Off-Broadway she appeared in Everyday Rapture at Second Stage and The Marvelous Wonderettes at the Westside Theater.

Her other stage credits include Band Geeks! (NAMT), Rated RSO: The Music and Lyrics of Ryan Scott Oliver (Kennedy Center, NYMF), Princesses (Goodspeed Opera House, 5th Avenue Theater), Footloose (Sacramento Music Circus), Call Me Madam (L.A. Reprise! Series).

She can be heard on the recordings of Grease!, New York City Christmas (a benefit for ASTEP) and Everyday Rapture.

Direction by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific), GODSPELL begins preview performances at Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street) on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Opening Night is Monday, November 7 (7 p.m.).

GODSPELL reunites Daniel Goldstein -- making his Broadway directorial debut -- and members of the design team from his critically-acclaimed 2006 Paper Mill Playhouse conception in a new production that has been completely re-imagined for the Circle in the Square, one of Broadway's most intimate, unique and versatile houses.

Conceived and originally directed by John-Michael Tebelak with music and new lyrics by Academy and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin), GODSPELL has continued to electrify audiences throughout the country since its original New York premiere in May 1971.

GODSPELL's Tony-nominated score features instantly recognizable hits including "Day by Day," "Turn Back, O Man," "Learn Your Lessons Well, "Prepare Ye the Way," "Light of the World" and many more.

One of the most popular musicals in the world, GODSPELL originally ran for more than 2,600 performances in New York and spawned successful touring productions in major U.S. cities, a 1973 motion picture adaptation and countless international engagements for the past 40 years.

The new Broadway revival of GODSPELL is produced by Ken Davenport, Edgar Lansbury, Broadway Across America, Hunter Arnold, Luigi Caiola, Rose Caiola, Guillermo Wiechers & Juan Torres and The People of Godspell. Associate producers include Michael McClernon and Pivot Entertainment.

GODSPELL features scenic design by David Korins (Passing Strange), costume design by Miranda Hoffman (Well), lighting design by David Weiner (The Normal Heart), sound design by Andrew Keister (Company), orchestrations by Michael Holland (Hurricane) and musical direction by Charlie Alterman (Next to Normal).
