And a Happy Birthday shout-out to Oprah Winfrey, who turns 61 today!

Winfrey last produced The Color Purple on Broadway in 2005; the production was nominated for a 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical. The actress has it in her sights to lead Tony Kushner's new version of The Visit on the Great White Way soon. Before creating her own TV channel (OWN), Winfrey hosted The Oprah Winfrey Show daytime talk show from 1986 to 2011. She recently appeared on the big screen in the MLK biopic Selma, as well as Lee Daniels' The Butler. Winfrey was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013.
