Rashad, daughter of Phylicia Rashad, last appeared on Broadway opposite Orlando Bloom in Romeo and Juliet. Before that, she starred in The Trip to Bountiful and Stick Fly; both performances earned her Tony nominations. Rashad also acted off-Broadway in Lynn Nottage's Ruined. On screen, she appeared with her mother in 2012's TV movie version of Steel Magnolias, as well as NBC's musical drama series Smash.
