Virginia Stage Company's A CHRISTMAS CAROL Returns to the Wells Theatre This Holiday Season

Virginia Stage Company's annual tradition, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, returns to the Wells Theatre again this holiday season. Over 50,000 patrons have attended this heartwarming production in the past to watch as the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future visit Ebenezer Scrooge and remind us all about hope, redemption, and love.

Education and Community Outreach: Eight (8) student matinees will be presented for A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Over the span of these matinees, Virginia Stage Company has committed to give $10,000 in scholarships to schools around Hampton Roads that otherwise would not be able to afford the tickets. This will provide more than 650 tickets for students, with additional tickets being given to parents and teachers.

Theater for Everyone: Virginia Stage Company will host its second annual Theater for Everyone performance of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, Wednesday, December 16th at 8:00pm. This performance is designed as a theater experience for individuals of all abilities (with and without special needs). Patrons are invited to participate in a hands-on exploration before the show, during which they will learn about the show from props, costumes, lights and sounds. This show will be performed without complete black-outs and with lower volume levels of some sound effects. Other slight modifications have been made to accommodate the audience. All tickets for this performance are $25

Inside VSC video series: Virginia Stage Company will be releasing a video series in installments in order to give Hampton Roads a deeper insight into the people who create these shows here in Norfolk. The series will feature both A CHRISTMAS CAROL cast and Virginia Stage Company staff as they share their favorite Christmas memories and stories. Keep an eye out on our website and social media accounts to watch as we share with our community an inside look into VSC.

Tickets and Times: A CHRISTMAS CAROL kicks off with a discounted preview performance on December 9 and officially opens on December 11. After 16 performances and 8 student matinees, the production will conclude on December 24. Tickets for each show start as low as $25, the majority of seats are $45-$55, and the best seats in the theatre are available for $99. There are discounts for groups, students, and the military where applicable.
