Virginia Musical Theatre will open it's 23rd season with the second longest running Off-Broadway musical ever, NUNSENSE, October 4th through the 6th at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach.

The show is a madcap satire of convent life with the wacky Sisters of the Little Nunnery in Hoboken, known affectionately as the "Little Hobos," who are staging a talent show to raise money to bury fifty-two of their fellow Sisters who succumbed to some bad vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia, Child of God.

This production will be the first in the area to utilize a newly revised script by playwright Dan Goggins, who wrote the original show back in 1985. VMT's production brings together seasoned professional actors from New York and Los Angeles, all under the direction of Broadway veteran Michael Licata. The set and costumes are from the Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera Company's recent revival of the show last season.

Tickets are currently on sale and range in price from $18 to $58, with discounts available for seniors, military and students.
