Today, in honor of the late George Jones, country music star Sammy Kershaw released his latest single and music video, "The Route That I Took" (Big Hit Records / RED). watch!

"George was a major part of my life for many years," notes Kershaw. "He was my friend and mentor and I wrote this song with him in mind a while back and hoped that he one day might record it. I couldn't think of a more appropriate time to put it out. God Bless you, Possum and see you again someday my friend."

Country music icon George Jones passed away on April 26, 2013 at the age of 81.

Kershaw's multi-platinum selling albums have had more than 30 radio singles including major hits like "She Don't Know She's Beautiful," "Cadillac Style," "Queen of My Double Wide Trailer" and "Third Rate Romance." The GRAMMY-nominated country music star has sold more than 5 million albums to date. Because of vocal similarities, critics often referred to Kershaw as the heir apparent to the late, great George Jones.
