You can't please everyone... Everyone's a critic... The customer's always right... Such platitudes do occasionally come to mind when your business is dealing with the public.

For over fifty years Minneapolis' Tony Award-winning Guthrie Theater has been serving up high-quality productions of classics and plays by new voices, and while its reputation is stellar, there are the occasions when someone wishes to express a dissenting view.

With modern technology making it easier than ever for customers to deliver their complaints, the folks at the Guthrie put together this cheeky video to share some of the more colorful examples of fan mail that have graced the company's inbox.

Dear Guthrie

Good or bad, we can always count on our patrons to let us know what they think. "Dear Guthrie..." is our cheeky way of saying thanks for keeping us in check.

Opening in 1963, The Guthrie Theater is named for its co-founder, director Sir Tyrone Guthrie, who had previously been instrumental in the founding of The Stratford Festival of Canada. It is regarded as the country's first major resident theater, dedicated to presenting both classical literature and new work from diverse cultures, illuminating the common humanity connecting Minnesota to the peoples of the world.

The Guthrie's current production is Mary Chase's delightful comedy HARVEY, running through May 15th. Visit guthrietheater.org.
