Wednesday matinees are a day off for AN AMERICAN IN PARIS' Tony-nominated leading lady Leanne Cope, but instead of relaxing at home today she took a bit of time to invite Facebook members on a backstage tour, captured on video.

The twenty-one minute video began at 3:05pm, near the end of act one, and covered all the intermission preparation for act two. Members were invited to post questions for Cope, which she fielded on the spot.

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is now playing at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street). The production opened on April 12, 2015 to widespread critical acclaim.

Inspired by the Academy-Award winning film, An American in Parisbrings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin, a book byCraig Lucas and direction and choreography by Christopher Wheeldon. An American in Paris won four 2015 Tony Awards. The hit musical has also won four Drama Desk Awards and four Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Musical, the Drama League Award for Best Musical, three Fred andAdele AstaireAwards and two Theatre World Awards.

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is the romantic story of a young American soldier, a beautiful French girl and an indomitable European city, each yearning for a new beginning in the aftermath of war.
