2009 Winter Classes & Workshops

Acting 101 with Tony Mansker from
Broadway's Mary Poppins

Six week class (1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/28, 3/7)

A Class Act NY is thrilled to have Tony Mansker from Broadway's smash hit, Mary Poppins teach Acting 101. This six-week course will help students create living, breathing characters by breaking down text and analyzing intent and motivation. Students will perform scenes and monologues, unlock their imagination through improvisation,and approach a character from a cold reading to a final performance for family, friends, talent agents and casting directors.

All levels are welcome! Space is limited to 14 students.

Voice over Workshop with Mike Pollock, Voice over artist and Barry Shapiro, Co-Owner of Herman & Lipson Casting

We are thrilled that Mike Pollock, prominent voice over actor and Barry Shapiro, Casting Director and Co-Owner of Herman & Lipson Casting will be co-teaching our very first animation & commercial voice over workshop! The workshop will take place in a professional recording studio complete with a sound engineer! Kids will work in the booth on children's animation and commercial scripts that they are surely to be familiar with! Students walk away with a CD of their work at the end of the session.

We are very pleased to announce that Nickelodeon's Ed Lewis, Casting Director of Wonder Pets, Team Umizoomi and Broadway's Popcorn, will be teaching a voice over workshop. The workshop will take place in a professional recording studio complete with a sound engineer! Kids will work in the booth on children's animation scripts from these hit Nick Jr, Noggin & Nickeldeon shows! Ed casts kids of all ages to voice the characters you hear on t.v.! He also casts for film, theatre and t.v.
