Tony Estrella, artistic director of The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm), is pleased to announce the theater's 2017-2018 Season. The 5-play line-up comprises wide-ranging resonant works that Estrella describes as "stories of public and private reinvention of discovering new ways forward when the old ones stop making sense."

"We'll begin with the stiletto-sharp wit of Oscar Wilde because, in a world of 'alternative facts,' it's worth reminding ourselves of The Importance of Being Earnest." We'll continue with Nick Payne's Incognito, a journey into the workings of our minds that is both intimate in scale and epic in scope," Estrella said. "We're excited to kick off 2018 with our dear friend Trinity Rep Artistic Director Curt Columbus staging his own translation of Uncle Vanya, Chekhov's tragi-comedy of human folly and forgiveness. We'll continue with A Human Being Died that Night, Nick Wright's searing stage adaptation of Pumla-Ngobo-Madzikela's book about seemingly impossible reconciliation in post-apartheid South Africa. Finally hope springs eternal with As You Like It, Shakespeare's brilliant comedy about finding a more compassionate and meaningful way to live."

In addition to the regular season, The Gamm is excited to announce the return of "Straight Talk." This series of one-off staged readings and play discussions will start with Tom Stoppard's Travesties--a theatrical mash-up of Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest and real-life revolutionaries James Joyce, Dadaist founder Tristan Tzara, and Vladimir Lenin, all of whom lived in Zurich 100 years ago. Other "Straight Talk" events will be announced throughout the season.

Subscriptions to The Gamm's 2017-18 Season are $155-$250. Information at 401-723-4266 or gammtheatre.org.
