Tony Award winner Lena Hall will lead the cast at invitation-only industry readings of Cedar Street, a provocative new play by R. M. Cohen.

Directed by Markus Potter (Stalking the Bogeyman), the readings will take place on Thursday and Friday, March 5 and 6. David Vernon Lustig/No Filter Productions is developing the project.

In addition to Hall (Hedwig and the Angry Itch, Kinky Boots), the cast will include James Badge Dale (Small Engine Repair; TV: The Pacific, Rubicon, 24), Jamie LaVerdiere (The Producers, Pirate Queen, Motown). and LeRoy McClain (The History Boys, Cymbeline).

According to the producer, "Cedar Street is a new American drama about wrestling with reality in a post 9/11 world. It's 2003, and artist Emma Mackay has a downtown Manhattan loft, a husband who adores her, an agent who is her best friend, a trainer who keeps her on her toes and a career about to take off. Nice life, right? Wrong."

Hall's previous Broadway and Off-Broadway roles include starring as Nicola in the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots (Original Cast), starring in the award winning Toxic Avenger at New World Stages, Tarzan (Original Cast), Dracula (Original Cast), 42nd Street (Anytime Annie), Cats (Demeter), Bedbugs (NYMF) and Green Eyes (Fringe). TV and Film roles include "Young Miranda" in the Sex and the City film, The Stepford Wives,The Graduates, "All My Children" and "Legally Blonde, the Search for the Next Elle Woods."

Born and raised in San Francisco, CA, Hall traveled the world performing and received her first big break singing for Pope John Paul II at Candlestick Stadium for over 50,000 people at the young age of 7. Hall was a member of the Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company in San Francisco and at the age of 17, joined the national tour of Cats. When not on the Broadway stage, Lena performs with her band The Deafening.
