'The Wiz Live's Mary J. Blige to Guest on ABC's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER

Deadline reports that multi-Grammy winner Mary J. Blige will appear in a guest starring role in the third season of ABC's HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER.

Although details of the appearance have not been revealed, series star Viola Davis recently told Deadline that there will be "a new mystery" in the upcoming season. She went on to tease that it will be "presented very quickly in the first episode."

The singer was most recently seen on television in NBC's THE WIZ LIVE! on which she took on the role of Evillene. She went on to receive a Critics' Choice TV Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series for the role. In addition, Blige has appeared in the ABC hit comedy BLACK-ISH. On film, she will soon be seen in MUDBOUND, opposite Jason Mitchell, Jason Clarke, Garrett Hedlund and Carey Mulligan.
