Wait Wait Don't Kill Me by Alan Schmuckler (Days Like Today) and Dave Holstein (Showtime's Weeds, HBO's The Brink), creators of the digital interactive musical, My Little Red/Green Coat, will enjoy a 3 performance staged reading at The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT)'s new Loft, September 4th through the 6th, 2015.

The PIT is proud to announce an in-progress showing of it's newest theatrical comedy, Wait Wait Don't Kill Me, a very funny, very mean little musical indictment of sensationalizing real people's tragedies for entertainment (by sensationalizing them to the extreme) inspired by the events surrounding the making of the Serial podcast. Wait Wait Don't Kill Me was originally presented in episodic form at #serials@theflea at The Flea Theater. For The PIT performances, the show has been transformed into a fully integrated, 90-minute musical.

PIT Artistic Director Kevin Laibson says, "I am so excited to be bringing this cruel little musical to my home, The PIT. Alan and Dave have written a sophisticated modern satire in the tradition of Sinclair (or even Chaucer, but I'll deny saying that), and I think it fits nicely alongside the progressive comedy we try to curate year round."

Wait Wait Don't Kill Me features music and lyrics by Alan Schmuckler and book by Dave Holstein; direction by Kevin Laibson(Eliza Bent'sToilet Fire, Artistic Director of The PIT). Produced by Stephen Stout (Kapow-i GoGo).

Wait Wait Don't Kill Me will play September 4 & 5th at 8pm, and September 6th at 2pm at The PIT's Loft space (159 West 29th Street, 2nd Floor). Tickets are $10 and available here: http://thepit-nyc.com/event/2015-09-04-wait-wait-dont-kill-me
