The Attic Theater Company to Present ON THE VERGE at Walkerspace This Summer

The Attic Theater Company (Laura Braza, Artistic Director, and Ted Caine, Executive Director) returns to New York City for its annual Off-Broadway summer production. The critically acclaimed company will present Eric Overmyer's comedy ON THE VERGE, directed by Laura Braza. ON THE VERGE will play a strictly limited Off-Broadway engagement at Walkerspace (46 Walker Street, NYC) beginning Saturday, June 18th through Saturday, July 9th, 2016. ON THE VERGE tracks three intrepid Victorian women's travels through time as they venture into unknown territory in search of the era to which they better belong. They uncover a world stranger than they would ever have expected, but with the help of some unlikely allies, Alex, Fanny, and Mary find their place in time by bravely questioning the societal norm. Part sci-fi adventure, part hilarious romp, ON THE VERGE is a witty exploration of discovery and adventure.

The cast of ON THE VERGE features William John Austin as Grover, Ella Dershowitz as Alex, Emily Kitchens as Fanny, and Monette Magrath as Mary.

ON THE VERGE has scenic design by Julia Noulin-Merat, costume design by Emily Rosenberg, lighting design by Daniel B. Chapman, and sound design by Beth Lake. The casting director is Judy Bowman, CSA.

Eric Overmyer (Playwright) is a writer and producer whose credits include: HBO's "Treme," "The Wire," "Law and Order" and "Law and Order, Criminal Intent," "New Amsterdam," "Close to Home," "Gideon's Crossing," "Homicide: Life on the Streets," "The Dayand Nights of Molly Dodd," and "St. Elsewhere." Recipient of a Writers Guild of America Award and an Edgar Award for "The Wire" (Season 4). Nominations: Writers Guild: "Molly Dodd," "Homicide," "The Wire;" Humanitas: "Homicide;" Edgar: "Rear Window" (MOW), "The Wire;" Emmy: "Homicide, The Movie." Laura Braza (Director) is a theater and film director and teaching artist in addition to helming the Attic as Artistic Director. Directing credits for the Attic include Moonchildren, Dark Rapture, Wonderful World, This One Time In Last Chance, The Time of Your Life, The Tutors, The Notebook of Trigorin, Strictly Dishonorable, and the dreamer examines his pillow. She has also produced and directed numerous staged readings and workshops for the Attic. Recent directing credits include The Dispute and If You Give a Pig a Pancake (Hangar Theater); Speed-the-Plow, Henry VI Part 2 and Red Light Winter (UNC School of the Arts); Lysistrata, Escape from Happiness and Women of Lockerbie (Stella Adler/NYU), and work at Keen Company, NYMF, Atlantic Theater Company's Stage II, and Dixon Place. ON THE VERGE begins performances at Walkerspace (46 Walker Street, NYC) on Saturday, June 18th (performing through Saturday, July 9th). The regular performance schedule is: Tuesday through Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 5pm (Dark on Mondays). There will be additional Saturday matinee performances on June 25th and July 9th at 2pm. There will be no performance on Sunday, July 3rd.
