New Jersey Performing Arts Center's nineteenth annual gala, NOTHIN' LIKE A DAME, was held earlier this week. It featured the talents of many Tony winners and nominees, including Patina Miller, Laura Benanti, Andrea McArdle, and more. Seth Rudetsky hosted and directed the evening of performances. The West End's long-running hit BILLY ELLIOT featured a special, unprecedented performance this week, as a record-breaking twenty-five Billy Elliots (former and current) came together to perform the show's epic finale. London's three original Billy Elliots - James Lomas, George Maguire, and Liam Mower - were all there for this special event. One of this season's most talked-about productions officially opened at the Longacre Theatre earlier this week - Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman's Pulitzer Prize-winning YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU. The cast and creative team enjoyed an acclaimed opening night performance, from fans and critics alike. The production runs through January 4th featuring the talents of James Earl Jones, Annaleigh Ashford, Rose Byrne, Kristine Nielsen, Elizabeth Ashley, and many more. PigPen Theatre Company's THE OLD MAN AND THE OLD MOON officially celebrated their opening night earlier this month. In a production that incorporates inventive story-telling techniques and seven actors in ever-changing roles, the company raises the bar, both for performance and for writing as members of the company wrote, directed, and produced the show. Tom Stoppard's INDIAN INK officially opened earlier this week on September 30th, starring Tony winner Rosemary Harris. The show will play a limited engagement at the Roundabout Theatre Company's Laura Pels Theatre. INDIAN INK tells the story of two sisters at two different times in their lives and on two different continents. Rosemary Harris plays the younger sister of Flora (Romola Garai), whose legacy she is trying to preserve, fifty years after her controversial career. Theatre fans everywhere are anticipating this fall's Broadway revival of the cult-favorite SIDE SHOW, which is set to play in the St. James Theatre opening on November 17th. Starring Emily Padgett and Erin Davie as conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton, SIDE SHOW is based on a true story. The company began rehearsals this week, and you can check out some more photos here!

ON THE TOWN's Megan Fairchild (Ivy Smith or "Miss Turnstiles") is officially an honorary Miss Subways! Ellen Hart, of Ellen's Stardust Diner, held a reunion of former Miss Subways honorees, a title which she once held herself. She invited Fairchild to the reunion, and after presenting her with the honorary title, all of the present Miss Subways traveled to the Lyric Theatre to see the matinee of ON THE TOWN, which will officially open on Thursday, October 16th. Terrence McNally's IT'S ONLY A PLAY has released several production photos just in time for the show's opening, which is scheduled for next Thursday, October 9th. With a star-studded cast including, F. Murray Abraham, Matthew Broderick, Nathan Lane, Rupert Grint, Megan Mullally, Stockard Channing, as well as Micah Stock in his Broadway debut, the play is directed by three time Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien. Paper Mil Playhouse is opening its season with the Broadway-bound revival of CAN-CAN, starring Kate Baldwin and Jason Danieley. The official opening is set for this Sunday, October 5th. The musical was first presented in 1953 at Broadway's Shubert Theatre, with a score featuring classic numbers from Cole Porter, including "I Love Paris," "C'est Magnifique," and many more. The Paper Mill production is scheduled to run through the end of the month. Click here to see more photos!

The most recent Broadway production to celebrate opening night is THE COUNTRY HOUSE, led by Tony and Emmy winner Blythe Danner. The official opening was held on Thursday, October 2nd. The company enjoyed their curtain call at Manhattan Theatre Club's Samuel J. Friedman theatre. This production marks the New York premiere of Donald Margulies' play about famous and longing-to-be famous artists joining together at their Berkshires summerhouse for the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
