THE SOUND OF MUSIC Update! First Look At Carrie Underwood & Audra McDonald In The Studio
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood joins with five-time Tony Award-winning stage and screen notable Audra McDonald in a new behind the scenes shot leaked from the ongoing soundtrack recording sessions for the highly anticipated live NBC TV musical adaptation of Rodgers & Hammerstein's celebrated family-friendly classic THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
Earlier today, executive producer Neil Meron yet again utilized his acutely active Twitter account, posting the accompanying pic and commenting, "two of the greatest talents on the planet @carrieunderwood @AudraEqualityMc #soundofmusic session @broadwayworld"
Thanks again for the shout-out, Neil! And, boy, do those lucky leading ladies look like they love working with you! We simply can't wait to hear what they've been creating in the studio - it's definitely sure to be one of our favorite things this holiday season!
THE SOUND OF MUSIC's Maria Von Trapp herself, Carrie Underwood, subsequently re-Tweeted the message with an "Awwww" and relayed a recent story involving her Mother Abbess, Audra McDonald: "
@AudraEqualityMc gave me a dollar! Wow! She sings like an angel and hands out $$$! It's all about the Washingtons, baby!
Additionally, Audra McDonald took advantage of her Twitter account to share some thoughts on her talented co-star, as well, Tweeting, "Listening to
@carrieunderwood "Do Re Mi" her booty off. She sounds fantastic!"
Later, she wrote to fellow THE SOUND OF MUSIC nun and real-life Broadway baby Ashley Brown, "
@ashleybrown9 @carrieunderwood oh Sister Ermengarde...so sorry we had to kick you to the curb of the Abbey. Just too sassy for us sisters;)"
