The Road To Fame, director Hao Wu's feature documentary following the senior class of China's top drama academy as it stages the country's first Mandarin-language production of the American musical Fame, will receive its New York premiere screening at the IFC Center as part of DOC NYC 2013, New York's Documentary Festival.

In the country's first official collaboration with Broadway, five Chinese students spend eight months competing for roles, struggling with pressure from family and authority, and preparing to graduate into China's entertainment industry as they present the country's first Chinese-language production of Fame as their graduation showcase. As part of China's single-child generation, the students are forced to confront complex social realities and their own anxieties while negotiating their own paths to the "Chinese dream" of a life in show business.

The Road To Fame will be screened on Saturday, November 16 at 7:15pm. Director Hao Wu will be in attendance. The IFC Center is located on Sixth Avenue at West 3rd Street in New York City.
