Candy Spelling, wife of the late TV tycoon Aaron Spelling and mother to reality TV star and actress Tori Spelling has, for the most part, never claimed the spotlight. But she is now carving a new path and name for herself, continuing her family's legacy in the entertainment industry as a Broadway producer and star of an upcoming E! reality show.

In a story on PerezHilton.com, Spelling addresses this new direction in her life, "I'd always been very shy because my husband was the best storyteller. We didn't need two of them in the house, and I enjoyed just listening to him. But now I'm by myself, I need to go out and talk to people. I can't just be reclusive."

Spelling will join Ryan Seacret's upcoming E! show, 'Bank of Hollywood'. The show gives ordinary people who are in need of cash, the chance to make a plea for money from rich celebrities. The show is based on the U.K. series 'Fortune: Million Pound Giveaway.'

Spelling will also be producing a revival of 'Promises, Promises' on Broadway , scheduled to open in April, 2010, and featuring Tony Goldwyn, Katie Finneran and Brooks Ashmanskas.
