South Bend Civic Theatre Closes MOONLIGHT & MAGNOLIAS, 1/31
South Bend Civic's first production of 2010 is the area premier of the much-loved comedy, Moonlight & Magnolias. In the Wilson Mainstage Auditorium, this is the wackiest "Gone with the Wind" ever.
Based on actual events, producer, David O. Selznick has stopped production on the film, locks himself in his office with Ben Hecht, the writer, Victor Fleming, the director, and the intention to stay put until Hecht delivers a script. Under pressure from studio executives, dodging tabloid reporters, eating nothing but bananas and peanuts, deprived of sleep, the three work and re-work iconic scenes from the film and end up writing what is sure to be... "a flop!" The rest, as they say, is film-making history!
Tickets range in price from $14-$20 and can be purchased by calling (574) 234-1112 or visiting www.artseverywhere.com.
South Bend Civic Theatre is the oldest continuously-operating community theatre company in the South Bend/Mishawaka area. For more information, visit www.sbct.org.
