Shaina Taub plays a concert at Rockwood Music Hall on Monday May 30th at 9 PM, featuring a full band and all original music.

Shaina's folk-funk opera, The Daughters, was developed last summer at Mark Brokaw's Yale Institute of Music Theater, featured in the 2010 NAMT Songwriter's Showcase, workshopped at CAP21 Theater Company and was a 2011 Richard Rodgers Awards finalist.

The concert will feature Taub on lead vocals and keys, Jo Lampert (Prometheus Bound, The Last Goodbye) and Kate Ferber (The Daughters, Factory Girls) on additional vocals, Justin Goldner (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson) on bass, Adam Stoler on guitar, and Hiroyuki Matsuura (Revolting Rhymes) on drums.

Classically schooled on the keys, raised on the Steves (Wonder and Sondheim), and deeply rooted in soul, Vermont-raised singer/songwriter Shaina Taub creates a unique style of pop song, fusing funk grooves, and explosive harmonies. Her band has played to packed houses at such famed venues as The Bitter End and The Living Room. Her debut solo EP on Funky Butter Productions will be released this summer.

Rockwood Music Hall is on 196 Allen Street between Houston and Stanton. Admission is free. Taub's concert is on Stage One.
