GUYS 'N' DIVAS: BATTLE OF THE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICALS premieres tonight, Thursday, August 27th at 8:30 PM ET/PT on the Showtime Network. Barry Blaustein's documentary follows the adventures of three Southern Indiana high schools and is a must watch for theatre aficionados.

Press notes state that, "the film follows the drama, both on stage and off, at Floyd Central High School, New Albany High School and Jeffersonville High School as each school spends tens of thousands of dollars on musical productions in order to compete for admission to the prestigious International Thespian Festival. Focusing on the students, parents, teachers - all of whom are passionate and emotionally invested in their shows - the documentary offers a fascinating inside look at the production process from auditions and rehearsals through ticket sales and opening night."

Written and directed by Barry Blaustein, whose work includes the award-winning documentary "Beyond the Mat," as well as the feature film comedies "Coming to America, "Boomerang" and "The Nutty Professor," the project is co-produced by Lionsgate, Showtime and Spitfire Pictures. Blaustein is executive producer, along with Spitfire's Nigel Sinclair (producer of the Grammy Award-winning documentary "No Direction Home: Bob Dylan"). Spitfire's Guy East and Tobin Armbrust are co-producers.
