On last night's episode of Bravo's TOP CHEF TEXAS, the chefs had to create a feast and cater to a Quincinera party, a coming of age celebration in the Mexican culture. Chef Keith Rhodes was the first chef to be eliminated from the competition.  

In this week's Quickfire, the chefs were challenged to create a savory dish from rattlesnakes. In the Elimination Challenge, the chefs had to create a feast and cater to a Quincinera party.  San Antonio is rich in Mexican culture and lifestyle, from food to music, and art. The chefs were providing a 100% authentic Mexican feast using all original Mexican ingredients. Guest judge Johnny Hernandez joined Hugh Acheson, head judge Tom Colicchio, and host Padma Lakshmi.

For the first-time ever, season nine boasted a record 29 chefs - almost double the amount of chefs in season's past Only 16 went on to compete across the Lone Star State - in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio. In what will prove to be the most challenging season yet, some of the biggest names in food, music, and entertainment including Charlize Theron, Pee-Wee Herman, Cat Cora, John Besh, Tim Love, Patti LaBelle will be featured this season on Top Chef: Texas. Returning to the Judges' Table is host Padma Lakshmi and head judge, chef Tom Colicchio, alongside judges Gail Simmons and new this season, famed chef and restaurateur Emeril Lagasse and critically-acclaimed chef Hugh Acheson.
