Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man, a new comedy written by Matt Murphy and Drama Desk Award winner Jim Brochu (Zero Hour, The Big Voice: God or Merman), based on the best-selling book by Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman, will have its world premiere at The 777 Theatre (777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets). Directed by Tim Drucker (writer/director of Spidermusical, co-book writer for the musical Fat Camp) Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man will begin performances tonight, January 22, 2014. The press opening is set for February 9, 2014. Tickets for Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man are priced at $49.69 - $69.69 and are now on sale online at SexTipsPlay.com.

This new comedy is set inside a local university auditorium, where the featured event is an interactive discussion with the author of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man. With the help of Stefan, a hunky stage assistant, author Dan Anderson encourages the shy and studious moderator of the event, Robyn, to follow her dreams while following his tips. Based on the international best-selling book, this world premiere production welcomes audiences into a fun-filled world of foolproof moves and insider advice that could only be culled from that most insightful of individuals: the gay man.

"Some of our best tips were picked up and perfected in New York, where the competition is, ahem, stiff. We're excited that this hilarious adaptation of our book will be there to entertain as well as inform," said authors and real-life best friends Dan Anderson (the gay man) and Maggie Berman (the straight woman). Mr. Anderson and Ms. Berman's best-seller (featured in the film Hope Springs, starring Meryl Streep) was praised by The Daily News for "offering witty-and yes, explicit-descriptions of all manner of how-tos;" by The New York Post as "straightforward and saucy . . . a play-by-play account of how to make the most of every moment;" and by Salon.com as "a cannily entertaining romp through the nuts and bolts of sex from the male perspective."

The cast of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man includes Jason Michael Snow (Book of Mormon, South Pacific, Saved) as Dan, Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Lysistrata Jones, Forbidden Broadway, "Submissions Only") as Robyn, and Andrew Brewer (Cougar The Musical) as Stefan. Rachel Moulton and Grant MacDermott are the understudies.

Presented by Matt Murphy, Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man has scenic design by Luke Cantarella, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Brian Tovar, and video and sound design by Randy Blair. Renee Lynette DeMaio is the Production Stage Manager. The company manager is Matt Franzetti. Casting is by Geoff Josselson Casting.

Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man will perform Mondays at 8pm, Tuesdays at 7pm, Thursdays at 8pm, Fridays at 7pm and 10pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm , and Sundays at 7pm. Tickets are priced at $49.69 and $69.69. There is also a premium ticket ("The Wet Zone") which includes priority seating and a complimentary cocktail, priced at $99.69.
