Is Neil Patrick Harris going to be successful in his bid to scare up a role on AMERICAN HORROR STORY: FREAK SHOW?

Broadway and Hollywood superstar Neil Patrick Harris recently expressed his deep desire to appear on the new season of hit FX horror anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY, subtitled FREAK SHOW, and the series's mastermind and co-creator Ryan Murphy reveals new details on the prospective pairing in a new interview.

Murphy relates, "Yeah I spoke to Neil last week. He sort of had an idea of what he wanted to do, and I had an idea that he liked. So I'm going to call him next week. If I can make it work, it will be something that shoots at the end. He's very interested in the show and obviously Neil is a magician and likes all that magic stuff. So he's fascinated with that. We're trying to make it work. I'm optimistic."

Previously, Harris related that his admiration for the previous seasons in the series inspired him to pen a letter and send it to Murphy earlier this year, begging for a role on the series.

"I wrote a letter to Ryan, asking if I could be in it. And he didn't respond," Harris said.

Murphy followed up shortly thereafter via social media, writing, "@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you'd love."
