Rosalie Craig and Hadley Fraser, who are engaged in real life, will be playing the lead couple in CITY OF ANGELS, directed by Josie Rourke at the Donmar Warehouse this fall. Performances begin tonight, October 4, 2014.

CITY OF ANGELS features book by Larry Gelbart, music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by David Zippel. The musical comedy follows a writer attempting to adapt his book into a screenplay and the progress of the film.

CITY OF ANGELS opened on Broadway in 1989 and ran through 1992, directed by Michael Blakemore. It took home six Tony Awards in 1990. A concurrent production opened in Los Angeles at the Shubert Theater in 1991, starring Stephen Bogardus, Lauren Mitchell, Randy Graff and James Naughton. Shortly after, a US national tour kicked off and toured through the end of the Broadway run. CITY OF ANGELS first appeared in the West End in 1993, with Blakemore reprising his role as director and Roger Allam, Martin, Smith and Henry Goodman leading the cast. The show went on to win the 1994 Olivier Award for Best Musical.

Craig will next appear on the big screen in London Road. She has appeared onstage in The Light Princess, Table and London Road at the National, A Musical 50 Years, Hecuba and Alice in Wonderland at the RSC, and the stage adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. Among her TV credits are Spooks, Miranda, Casanova and more.

Fraser recently appeared onstage in Donmar Warehouse's Coriolanus, alongside Tom Hiddleston. The actor made his West End debut as 'Marius' in Les Miserables and has also performed in the West End in The Pirates of Penzance and Peter Pan at the Savoy. He starred on Broadway in The Pirate Queen in 2007. Hadley returned to Les Mis for the 25th Anniversary concert, singing the part of 'Grantaire', and again in 2011 to play the role of 'Javert' through 2012. He also starred as 'Raoul' in the 25th Anniversary production of The Phantom of the Opera in London, alongside Ramin Karimloo and Sierra Boggess. Craig and Fraser got engaged last year.
