Ron Gluck Releases New Memoir

In his new memoir, "Hey! God, Was That You?: Coincidences from over Five Thousand Hours of Flight and Forty-Four Years" (published by WestBow Press), author Ron Gluck anecdotally recounts his 44 years of service as a Jungle Aviation and Radio Service (JAARS) pilot and as a subsequent international relations liaison, detailing roles he believes God played in the South Pacific, Africa air travels and advancing host government alliances.

"This memoir is more than stories of a bush pilot's 'whew!' moments," writes Gluck. "It revisits incidences and factors not previously questioned which were central to how things worked out."

Written candidly, "Hey! God, Was That You?" revisits some of the important moments during Gluck's career and analyzes minor incidents previously dismissed as coincidences. Gluck reviews the incidents and seeks to point out God's role in guiding these events to successful conclusions.

"The five village men I was to fly stood together with their personal effects in small woven bark bags slung over their shoulders. From under the pilot seat I removed a small bathroom scale, placed it on the ground and weighed each of the men on it; I scaled their bags separately and loaded them into the cargo pod under the plane. The heaviest of the men may have weighed 100 pounds."

About the Author
Ron Gluck was born in Pittsburgh. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie Mellon, and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Later as a Jungle Aviation and Radio Service (JAARS) pilot, he flew 5,000 hours, transporting linguists into remote areas of Papua New Guinea and Cameroon between 1965 and 1981, retiring in 2007 as an international relations liaison.
