Tennessee Women's Theater Project presents its first-ever holiday season offering, Ginna Hoben's The Twelve Dates of Christmas, for a limited, seven-performance run at the Z. Alexander Looby Theatre December 4-13.

Described as a "comic romp" and a "side-splitting" one-woman play, The Twelve Dates of Christmas stars Nashville actress Rebekah Durham in the role of Mary.

This play opens with Mary, visiting her family at home in Ohio for Thanksgiving. She switches on the Macy's Parade and spots her fiancé back in New York - kissing another woman on national TV! Thus begins a year of ridiculous romances and hapless holidays, with a healthy dose of laughter, as Mary recounts her journey from the depths of heartbreak to a new sense of emotional balance.

Rebekah Durham plays Mary and a colorful collection of characters: her well-meaning friends and family members, her dates and more. Durham was last seen TWTP as the mother in 2013's production of Distracted.

"I've wanted to produce a holiday-themed show for a long time, but until now we've never had the perfect combination: the right play, the right opening in the calendar and the enthusiastic support of our venue partners, Metro Parks Theater Department," says Maryanna Clarke, TWTP founder and artistic director.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas premiered in 2010 at American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia, and has been produced by more than a dozen regional theaters in America, and in such far-flung locations as Birmingham, England and Alberton, South Africa. TWTP's production is the Tennessee premiere.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas opens Friday December 4 at North Nashville's Z. Alexander Looby Theater, with evening performances Thursday through Saturday, and two Sunday matinees. The final performance is Sunday, December 13 at 2:30 pm. All tickets for this special production are $25. A special "shop, then drop in" performance is scheduled for 8:30.p.m. on Friday, December 11.
