Just three days after its debut, Bunchball Founder and Chief Product Officer Rajat Paharia's new book, Loyalty 3.0: How to Revolutionize Customer and Employee Engagement with Big Data and Gamification, became the No. 1 best seller on Barnes & Noble's bn.com, and topped multiple best seller lists on Amazon.com.

In its first week of sales, Loyalty 3.0, published by McGraw-Hill, ranked as one of the top 200 books sold on Amazon, out of more than 8 million titles. Loyalty 3.0 was the No. 1 best seller among customer service books, and reached No. 2 among Amazon's vast selection of books about marketing and among books relating to consumer behavior. Loyalty 3.0 has also met critical acclaim with a review by Dan Woods running this week on Forbes.com.

The rankings put Loyalty 3.0 in the company of such business best sellers as Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion and Purpose by Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, and Contagious: Why Things Catch On by Jonah Berger.

Paharia, recognized worldwide as the father of gamification, has been an evangelist for the industry since he started Bunchball in 2005. His new book encapsulates nearly a decade of insights learned from helping Fortune 1,000 companies implement successful gamification strategies. Loyalty 3.0 explores the concepts Paharia has spent his career defining, including how today's leading companies can use big data, the latest science on human motivation and game mechanics to cultivate loyalty that is meaningful and sustainable.

"The reception for Loyalty 3.0 not only is gratifying, but it shows that businesses want to learn how to reignite the loyalty they've watched diminish over the past several years," said Paharia. "Whether a reader is trying to build loyalty among customers, partners, employees or social communities, Loyalty 3.0 serves as a useful guide to cultivating sustained engagement that transforms users into brand ambassadors."

With real-world case studies from numerous globally known brands, including Ford, Kraft and Adobe Loyalty 3.0 offers an industry-first look at gamification best practices and successful strategies. Loyalty 3.0 readers will learn:

  • Why current loyalty programs are failing to generate the loyalty businesses really want.
  • The five intrinsic motivators that organizations can use to shape the behaviors of customers, employees, partners and social communities.
  • Specific ways companies are using big data to drive business results from encouraging customers to buy more, to motivating employees to adopt a new enterprise platform or share their expertise with colleagues and partners.
  • How gamification serves as the engine of Loyalty 3.0, fueled by motivational science and big data.
  • The steps every company must take to implement a successful "Loyalty 3.0" program.

Loyalty 3.0: How to Revolutionize Customer and Employee Engagement with Big Data and Gamification is available now on Amazon.com and bn.com. More information on the book and the "Loyalty 3.0" concept is available at www.loyalty30.com .
