Time Life, which has spent the last several years supporting the music behind an array of New York theatrical productions, released the original cast recording of ROOMS a rock romance on February 2nd, 2010. The Off-Broadway hit centers around the vibrant ‘70s-era music scene, with music and lyrics that reflect the period flawlessly and was previously available digitally via iTunes on December 8th.

The original cast recording features the vocals of Leslie Kritzer (A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde and the upcoming Sondheim on Sondheim) and Doug Kreeger (Les Miserables, Signature's The Visit), performing with a five piece rock band. It was produced by multiple Grammy nominee Robert Sher (including 2009's Ain't Misbehavin' as well as 2008's Gypsy which was released by Time Life), with assistance from Producing Associate Brandon Wardell.

ROOMS a rock romance opens in 1970s Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter, meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two take their romantic and creative partnership from Glasgow to London to New York, while chasing their dreams that at the same time drive them apart.

ROOMS a rock romance has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman (Bright Lights Big City, Alive in the World) Miriam Gordon (Tiny Dancer, Easterhouse) and book by Goodman and Miriam Gordon. Music Supervision, Music Arrangements and Orchestrations are all by Jesse Vargas. The CD includes a special liner note essay written by stage and screen star, Patrick Wilson (Broadway's Oklahoma! and All My Sons, the film versions of The Phantom of the Opera and Watchmen). Wilson starred in composer Goodman's Off-Broadway production of Bright Lights, Big City and brings a unique insight into the artistry of ROOMS' compositions.

The production received critical acclaim and was nominated for three Outer Circle Awards, including Best Off-Broadway musical. It originally opened on March 16th, 2009 to rave reviews, concluding its run on May 10th, 2009. ROOMS will premiere in a new US city, announcing soon.

The cast recording is the latest theatrical release from Time Life, which has previously coordinated the soundtracks from Gypsy, Annie's 30th anniversary, the Toxic Avenger, and Ring of Fire, among others and brings together the country's most iconic music company with the nation's greatest theatre district.
