The New York Musical Theatre Festival, Van Hill Entertainment and Time Life Records presenedt the pre-release and listening party for the upcoming cast album of Off-Broadway's ROOMS a rock romance, on Wednesday, October 14 at 8:30pm. The party was be at Sweet Carolines (322 West 45th Street) and showcased live performances from the musical's stars, Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger.

The recording is produced by multiple Grammy® nominee Robert Sher (who also produced Time Life's release of the 2008 recording of Gypsy) and Producing Associate is Brandon Wardell. The recording took place May 12th in Manhattan.

ROOMS a rock romance begins in 1970s Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two quickly become entangled creatively and romantically. Their music takes them first to London and ultimately to New York City, where they discover the vibrant new music scene and create an intimate partnership, their love deepening while their personalities drive them apart. A five-piece band accompanies these two characters as they search for the balance between ambition and happiness.

ROOMS a rock romance has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman and book by Goodman and Miriam Gordon, and is directed by Scott Schwartz. Music Supervision, Music Arrangements and Orchestrations are by Jesse Vargas.

The critically acclaimed production was nominated for three Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Off-Broadway Musical. ROOMS a rock romance opened on March 16th, 2009 at New World Stages to rave reviews: "A sweet love story, delicious comic moments! Ms Kritzer is funny and fabulous! Mr. Kreeger is solid and strong. They mesh perfectly!" - The New York Times; "ROOMS is delightful, clever and poignant! The show concluded its run at New World Stages on Sunday, May 10, 2009 having played 64 performances and twenty previews.
