Ann E. Wrecksick & The Odyssey of the Bulimic Orphans, "a delightful, heartfelt, song and dance journey that takes several orphans on a quest for love, acceptance and the perfect diet," opened at Ars Nova (511 W. 54th St.) on Monday, February 20th (with original Annie star Andrea McArdle in attendance).  The musical will play 7 performances more through Sunday, March 19th.

Written by Bare actor Scott Allgauer and Bare composer Damon Intrabartolo with music and lyrics by Intrabartolo and direction by Kristin Hanggi (who directed the New York premiere of Bare), the musical "tells the tale of several husky, un-adoptable orphans and their redheaded ringleader. The orphans are faced with the irrefutable pressure to stay thin...after all, no one wants to adopt a fat kid! Join Ann E. and her friends on this delightful, heartfelt, song and dance journey through a world of debilitating eating disorders, acute cocaine addiction, overt lesbian pedophilia, and taxidermy too!," according to press notes.

The cast features Scott Allgauer, J. Cameron Barnett, Beth Curry, Byron St. Cyr, Joey Dudding, Matthew-Lee Erlbach, Amy Goldberger, Karen Katz, Caroline McMahon, Eddie Pendergraft, and Sandy Rustin. Ann E. Wrecksick features choreography by Kelly Devine (choreographic assistant on Jersey Boys).

Tickets are $20. To purchase, call SmartTix at 212-868-4444 or go to www.SmartTix.com.
