Pan Asian Rep to Celebrate 38th Season With Salute to Community Leaders, 11/6 at the Golden Unicorn

Pan Asian Repertory Theatre, the East Coast's premiere producer of critically acclaimed Asian-American theatre, celebrates its 38th Season with a festive event and salute to Community Leaders on Thursday, November 6 at the Golden Unicorn (18 E Broadway at Catherine Street) in Chinatown.

The evening includes presentation to salutees 21st Century ILGWU Heritage Fund, Wallace Wong, Fred Ho (in memoriam) and Henry Yuk. It will benefit Pan Asian Repertory's 38th milestone season that will focus on building bridges, and include the New York premiere of FILM CHINOIS, a noir mystery by Damon Chua in the vein of classic Hollywood films, which is set in Peking in 1947, to be presented January 17-February 8, 2015 at Theatre Row; and special performances of NO-NO BOY, adapted from the John Okada novel, written by Ken Narasaki.

Attendees will include Artistic Producing Director of Pan Asian Rep Tisa Chang; Emcee Ron Nakahara; presenter Raul Aranas; Pan Asian Rep artists including the Golden Globe, Emmy, and Drama Desk nominee Tina Chen, FILM CHINOIS playwright Damon Chua and director Kaipo Schwab, Fay Ann Lee, with entertainment from the Sayonara dancers Rumi Oyama, Tsubasa Ogawa, Hiroko Yonekura; Pan Asian Rep Board of Trustees Andrew Buchta, David Fung, Jannette Lau, Dale Leach, Tamio Spiegel, and Lawrence Yang; with special guests, Borough Manhattan President Gale Brewer, and Teresa Eyring, the Executive Director of Theatre Communications Group.
