North Raleigh Arts & Creative Theatre has announced their production of Neil Simon's Laughter on the 23rd Floor. Inspired by Simon's early experiences as a staff writer on Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows, Laughter tells the story of seven comedy writers, struggling with everything from an overbearing television network, determined to censor their show into mind-numbing mediocrity, the McCarthy hearings, and most daunting of all, the inescapable need to one-up the last gag.

With characters based on Simon's fellow writers, including Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, and Mel Tonkin among others, the show hurdles along at a break-neck pace of one-liners, all painted against the zeitgeist of the times, which is anything but comic. Laughter on the 23rd Floor is often hilarious, at times poignant, but always thoroughly enjoyable.

Performance Dates:
January 23rd - February 8th, 2015
Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm
