In her newly-released book, "Whom My Soul Loveth" ($20.99, paperback, ISBN 9781622306862; $9.99 e-book ISBN 9781625096432) author Nada Jabbour Hatem presents readers with an evangelism tool, interspersing the fictional love story with Bible references and verses-all clearly fashioned together to deliver the gospel message in a simple and clear way. The novel (376 pages) features a blossoming romance between two characters of different cultural and religious backgrounds.

Dalal Abu Suleiman, an only child and heiress to one of the wealthiest and the most influential families in Lebanon, comes to know Christ as her personal Savior, through the influence of her Christian classmate and next-door neighbor. The new Christian faith adopted by this pampered teen-age girl-as her name suggests-causes her to lose everything at one point. She is torn from her own home and country, forsaken by her own mother and family, loses her identity, and goes through the shadow of the valley of death for the sake of Christ. In his mercy and grace, God is faithful to the girl that loves Him so much, sacrifices her life for Him, and endures persecution for His Holy Name, by giving her the desire of her heart, the man "whom her soul loveth."

"My goal is to reach readers of a non-Christian faith, and, at the same time, encourage those of the Christian faith to experience a renewed sense of their own faith in Christ through this beautiful love story," the author says. "It is my deep desire that this Christian love story will generate laughtereven amidst possible tears-and draw readers of all ages and all walks of faith to the heart of God."

Ms. Hatem, an accomplished poet, was born and raised in Lebanon, and has been living in the United States for nearly 35 years. She grew up in a traditional, nominal Christian home, but early in life at the age of eleven, she surrendered her life to Christ. While studying at a Lebanese private school, she was the leading actress in most of the plays performed there, and her acting talent began to be noticed. She later would use this talent to write, direct and perform in many other Christian plays.

In late 1977, she found herself, her husband, and two small children preparing to leave her homeland in Lebanon for America, due to the raging civil war that had been ongoing for two years. At first, she and her husband resisted leaving, but one evening when they returned home from a weekend at her parents, they found a bullet lodged in her two-year old daughter's pillow, and the decision to leave Lebanon was already made! A few weeks later, Ms. Hatem and her family made their home in a suburb just outside of Washington, D.C. Over the past 20 years, she has penned more than 600 poems all praising Christ, and has written numerous Christian skits, plays, performances, magazine articles and daily devotions in both Arabic and English.
