In its fifth year, Accordo (recently named "Best Chamber Ensemble" by the Minneapolis Star Tribune) is a string ensemble composed of Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra principal players Rebecca Albers, Ruggero Allifranchini, Steven Copes, Erin Keefe, Kyu-Young Kim, Maiya Papach and Anthony Ross; and former SPCO principal cellist Ronald Thomas. Its 2013-14 season will be presented by The Schubert Club and Kate Nordstrum Projects at the National Historic Landmark Christ Church Lutheran, one of Minneapolis's great architectural treasures, designed by the esteemed architect Eliel Saarinen and his son Eero Saarinen.

A special event will also be held Tuesday, October 8 at Amsterdam Bar & Hall in Saint Paul, a variation on the October 7 program at Christ Church Lutheran-and at a lower price point. In a casual bar setting, audience members will explore Mozart and Brahms viola quintets with the musicians of Accordo. Hosted by Classical MPR, the evening will feature specialty drinks, music, context and conversation.

"We are so thankful that our loyal Twin Cities audience has stayed with us for the past several years and especially throughout last season," said violinist Steven Copes. "Performing the great chamber music repertoire is a true privilege for us, and we're eager to further deepen the connection between us and our listeners this year with a stimulating variety of music and a fun evening at Amsterdam Bar."

"Presenting Accordo these past five years has been such a joy," said Kate Nordstrum. "The level of musicianship cannot be beat, nor can the passion of the players and energy of their chamber music hungry audiences.

Accordo is one of the strongest chamber ensembles in the country, and it exists right here in the Twin Cities-we are so fortunate."
